Your child is not the problem. Your child is the solution. For many kids, starting school means having to change the way they naturally interact with the world. Some children cope with this deviation from natural learning - others don't. Your child's negative school experiences can create alterations in attitude, behavioural issues, and depression. Luckily, there are many ways to lessen the impact of these symptoms without punishment, blame, or burning down the school. You can work with your child at home to enhance harmony, improve learning, boost mood, and reduce stress. If your child is one of many who not only dislikes school, but is actually being damaged by attending, it's time for something to change. Remember - polar bears are awesome, but if you plonked one down on top of Uluru, its behaviour would certainly suffer.

Author Biography

Nanci Nott likes writing for children almost as much as she loves reading with them. Her own three children are particularly fun to read and write with. Nanci Nott believes in the abolishment of boredom, and the presence of play in education. She loves persuading people to pursue their particular passions, adores alliteration, and stays up way too late. Xanthe Turner loves drawing so much, she has developed callouses on her drawing hand, and she is rarely seen without a sketchbook. Her natural habitat is a novel-filled bedroom. In addition to illustrating (and publishing) the Zany Circus stories, Xanthe enjoys creating picture books, comics, fan art, sculptures, cosplay, and paintings. Xanthe plays guitar and piano (not at the same time) and her life goal is to befriend a sentient robot.
