Labour process theory is consolidated in Working Life to develop a credible account of the relationships between capitalist political economy, work systems and the strategies and practices of actors in the employment relationship. Beyond this, the book explores the future of labour process analysis.
PAUL THOMPSON is Professor of Organizational Analysis and Head of the Department of Human Resource Management at the University of Strathclyde Business School. In addition to many journal articles, Paul has previously authored Democracy and Patricipation at Work, Palgrave; A Handbook of Work and Organization, OUP; and the highly successful third edition of Work Organizations.
