Author Biography:

Francine Blei, MD, MBA, Professor of Pediatrics and Surgery (Plastic) at NYU Langone Medical Center and the NYU School of Medicine is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She is Medical Director of the Vascular Anomalies Program of the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders as well as the Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. She has published over 60 manuscripts (mostly vascular-anomalies-related), including several chapters in major medical textbooks, and has given numerous presentations nationally and internationally. She is Associate Editor of the journal Lymphatic Research and Biology, is on the Medical Advisory Board of The National Organization of Vascular Anomalies, and the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies. She holds a BA from Duke University, MD from Sackler School of Medicine (Tel Aviv, Israel), and MBA from the Stern School of Business of New York University. Carlita Anglin, MSIS, is a Family Health Librarian at the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at the NYU Langone Medical Center. In her role as a consumer health librarian, Ms. Anglin assists patients and family members find reliable health information to support their healthcare decision making in both the outpatient and hospital environment. As part of an integrative health team, Ms. Anglin collaborates with multi-disciplinary professionals in planning and implementing various supportive services. She is a New York State certified teacher and Library Media Specialist, as well as a faculty member of the Ehrman Medical Library at NYU Langone Medical Center. Ms. Anglin earned a BA from the University of North Texas and a Master's degree in Information Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Mongolia from 1998-2000.
