Description

A stranger from Godrick's childhood reveals the secrets he nearly took to his grave. The revelations free an innocent man, yet they condemn another. Raleigh orchestrates her one-woman revolution while the police -- and the news -- sniff closer. Each anonymous job gains her more experience, yet the public loudly counts down to her eventual demise. The FBI step into town, a Freemason rallies against Grant Gnavishan's mayoral campaign, and Rookshire Rieves' twisted products find their first, greedy users. And Godrick's curse has developed a dark gravity all its own...

Author Biography

Joe Schlegel (b. 1984) lives and works in Xenia, Ohio, and graduated from Xenia High School in 2002. For twelve years, he bounced back and forth between a myriad of jobs - independent music store clerk, carpet cleaner, ice cream hauler, photo lab manager, factory drone. But despite the erratic job history, Schlegel found solidarity in a story idea he'd created when he was 16. After finding himself unemployed in 2012, Schlegel sat down to work on what would become his debut novel, "The Appetite of Floyd" (2012) After its publication, he went to immediate work on "Dare to Defy" (2013), "Wrath, and Raleigh" (2014), and "A Few Grams of Horror Haze" (2014). The first four books in Schlegel's projected nine-part series have been met with incredibly positive reviews, some drawing comparisons to Stephen King and Thomas Harris. His attention to suspenseful details and ability to surprise the reader have left his growing fan base demanding more.
