Description

A Flaw in the Ointment is at once a challenging book and an enjoyable read, in which author Michael Perilstein presents a well-reasoned perspective on the nature of time and space, and the illusion of free will. Filled with engaging thought experiments, the volume provides ample exercise for the mind. Especially thought-provoking is the authors pointed critique of religion, which will remind some of Christopher Hitchins controversial God Is Not Good. Yet, the implications of Perilsteins theories reach well beyond a simple statement of atheism. Ultimately, those much broader ideas are at the heart of this book, and the reader with an open mind will have much to consider.

Author Biography:

Michael Perilstein has served as a full-time and freelance journalist for both radio and newspapers, conducting numerous interviews and producing on-location articles with or about people, including the late Sir Alfred Hitchcock, Sir Sean Connery, Sir Roger Moore, Sir Richard Attenborough, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, the late Gene Roddenberry, Jack Lemmon, Lily Tomlin, Peter Nero, Patrick Macnee, composer John Barry and others. He has also worked in cinema management, film production, and in music production and composition. To date Perilstein has released a total of nine records, on both vinyl LP and on CD, from several of his film scores as well as original music in the form of concept albums including "Godzilla vs. Your Mother" on Ralph Records (home of "The Residents") and "Elephants Gliding on Ice."
