Description

Five years after a car accident claimed her father's life and left her mother with a serious head injury, Miriah Wiles and her younger brother are forced to live with a foster family who control every aspect of her life including forcing her to date someone she despises and when she doesn't abide by the rules she pays the consequences. Miriah Wiles is a sixteen year old who is going through a lot as a teenager - more than one should have to at her age. Her father died in a car accident that the whole family was involved in when she was eleven. That same accident left her mother with a head injury and now she is in the hospital unable to take care of Miriah and her younger brother Jackie. Life with the foster family is scary and violent. Although, this is majority of Miriah's stress, she also has to deal with the fact that her mother has decided to have brain surgery. What if she doesn't make it? What if she and Jackie are stuck in this horrible placement forever?
