Description

A Journey with a Plastic Bag shares with the reader an inspiring journey of creative personal development. The personal writing, the original images Roni creates out of plastic bags and her fascinating photographs, reveal a surprising dialog between them. The book stimulates the artist within us: the images grow from visual images to metaphorical observations. The reader is invited to experience the hidden creative process, to bring forth personal associations and to process experiences, feelings and emotions. The use of plastic bags as raw material for this creative process is both surprising and original. The bag undergoes a metamorphosis and is transformed from non-recyclable rubbish into a sculptural image, imbued with subjective meanings by the reader. In this way, the book passes on an indirect, albeit important ecological message about recycling and sustainability. The book is intended to fascinate and inspire audiences interested in the creative process, personal writing, and the relationship formed between art and therapy. The unique combination of Roni's being an artist, writer, art therapist and martial arts trainee (Judo and Tai Chi) culminated in creating this book.
