Description

At a young age, Kionne L McGhee was raised in Naranja Housing projects and attended Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). While attending MDCPS, He was labeled Emotionally Handicapped and placed in special education. He was suspended more than twenty times, absent more than 100 days, scored 580 out of a possible 1600 on the SAT, and graduated number 252 out of a possible 285 graduates with a 2.0 gpa. After being arrested and facing the possibility of prison, he decided to become an attorney. He attended Howard University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Later, he enrolled and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Today, Attorney McGhee works for Miami Dade County State Attorney's Office under State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle as an Assistant State Attorney, teaches as a college professor, serves as a Motivational/Keynote Speaker who has been heard and seen by millions, and is the author of his memoir: a mer[e] I-CAN is AMERICAN. In addition, he serves as the Founder/President of 2NOIT Media and Publishing. Attorney McGhee has been featured on Black Entertainment Television's (BET) reality television show "College Hill," recognized by AT&T and the Miami Herald as a one of Miami's Rising Voices, published in over forty different publications around the country, and is currently working on the release of his new talk show. His journey led him to one final conclusion: the American Dream is neither material nor is it only available to a certain class or race of people. It is simply having a second chance to do what was not done the first time around. He believes his mere birth enabled him to be the beneficiary of the American Dream, while his hard work, hope, and determination to change his destiny revealed to him that his life experiences, taken together, were the ingredients for his success.
