Description

A unique and thought provoking photographic journey through the redevelopment of Lye and Wollescote in the 1950s - 1970s. Photographs by the late Harry Cartwright provide an intense reminder of the demolition and rebirth of a community.

Author Biography:

Harry Cartwright was a keen amateur photographer who has left a unique legacy in his photographs of the redevelopment of the Lye and Wollescote areas in the 1950s to 1970s. Following his death in 1972, the photos were largely unseen, until Colin McDonald made Pat Dunn and Colin Wooldridge aware of the photos. Pat and Colin have worked together on another Lye and Wollescote historical book and Pat has also written other books on Lye and Wollescote.
