Description

The table is a central image in Christianity - feasts appear frequently in Jesus' parables, the central act of Christian worship takes place around a table and the Bible describes heaven as a place of banqueting. Building on this inviting imagery, Dilly Baker offers ready-made resources for the whole year. From the blessing of a home to a quiet day on the environment, from a Eucharistic prayer for Easter to a credal statement for Human Rights Day, here are liturgies, prayers, gospel reflections, meditations, ideas to use on retreats and with all-age groups and, appropriately, seasonal recipes for simple good food to share.

Author Biography:

DILLY BAKER is the Warden of Scargill House, a retreat centre in the Yorkshire Dales with a programme that focuses on creative arts and craft, faith development, ecology, interfaith encounter and spirituality. She was previously a tutor at Sarum & Wells Theological College.
