A Right Good People were originally published in the Charlotte Observer, the largest newspaper in the Carolinas in the 1970s. These stories were written with the intention of illustrating the heritage of the Appalachian people and letting them speak about their culture and traditions for themselves.

Author Biography:

Harold F. Warren was a native of Burke County, NC. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Berea College in 1957. He began as a featured writer for the Charlotte Observer in 1969 where he wrote many articles focused on the Western North Carolina region. He passed away on July 30, 2013 in Charlotte, NC.
