There are many good and inspiring stories of the famous among us; Athletes such as Tom Brady, Steve Young, Michael Jordan, Bill Belichick. Rock stars and entertainers such as Bruce Springsteen and Gene Wilder. Political leaders such as George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Barack Obama. And computer programmers - what!!? That brings me to me and my story. Those mentioned above have certainly achieved more fame, fortune and glory than I, but I think what you may find in many of the stories is a sort of sameness. Growing up in a small town - passion - football ... football ... football ... basketball ... basketball ... basketball ... and on and on. Music - writing it, performing it ... writing it, performing it ... writing it, performing it ... and on and on ... Which is all well and good, and we all enjoy these stories of inspiration, struggle and success. I myself am currently editing the life story of a rather prominent college and NFL football personality. And did I mention passion? But a computer programmer - who cares? Growing up in a small town - yup, Butte Montana, a rough and tumble mining town. Passion - yup, in a variety of areas and life experiences; faith, technology, family, an African mission farm, travel, writing, blogging, Navy, politics ... Career - yup, programming ... programming ... and more programming.
