Henri J. M. Nouwen, a Dutch priest who spent most of his life in North America, is widely regarded as one of the most influential spiritual teachers of our time. His many books include The Return of the Prodigal Son, The Wounded Healer, With Burning Hearts: A Meditation on the Eucharistic Life, and Community.
