Author Biography:

Prof. (Dr.) Ravi Kant Mittal began his academic career at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), India, one of the top universities of India, in 1975 and retired from there as a senior professor in 2018. He headed the offshore campus of BITS Pilani at Dubai, UAE, as the director and was also the vice-chancellor of a private university, K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, India for a term. In his academic endeavors, he taught a wide spectrum of courses in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and allied subjects. He developed and introduced many new courses in emerging and interdisciplinary areas, at the graduate and postgraduate levels, including product design, mechanical design, reliability engineering, control systems, systems modelling, robotics & intelligent systems, mechatronics, MEMS and nanotechnology. He is a life member of IEEE and ACM. His total research and teaching experience, including top level administration, is 45 years. Prof. Mittal is author/co-author of over 80 technical research papers and has co-authored three popular textbooks and two edited research monographs. Dr. Abid Haleem, working as a professor of mechanical engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, is acknowledged in the list of top global scientists (Elsevier & Stanford) in the top 2 % in 2019 and 2020 and has a global rank in the top 0.4 %. Presently, Dr. Abid Haleem is a regional editor, Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management (Springer) and an associate editor with JCOT (Elsevier), MAPAN (Springer), and Journal of Orthopaedics (Elsevier), Apollo Journal of medicine (Kluwer). Dr. Ajay is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at JECRC University, India. He received his Ph.D. in the field of advanced manufacturing from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, India, after B.Tech. (Hons.) in mechanical engineering and M.Tech. (Distinction) in manufacturing and automation. His research spans incremental sheet forming, artificial intelligence, sustainable materials, additive manufacturing, mechatronics, smart manufacturing, industry 4.0, waste management, and optimization techniques. He has organized international conferences and holds more than 20 patents. With 15 years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Ajay is a Guest Editor for Frontiers in Sustainability and actively contributes to conferences and symposiums. Recognized with merit and best teacher awards, he advises the QCFI, Delhi Chapter student cell at JECRC University, and has played a key role in various academic and professional initiatives.
