In his lighthearted autobiography Captain Robert Bailey gives us a glimpse of the Music Hall: his Father a professional comedian. He tells of his adventures with boats on the Thames and shipwrecked off Foulness Island. Second World War conscription was a shock as he was in his thirties. He volunteered for the Indian Army. Adventures in India include being 'Bob Bailey Bathroom Baritone' on All India Radio. This was followed by his caravanning in a motorhome (recreational vehicle) adventures particularly in Spain. His adventures included dabbling in property in Eire. Captain Robert Bailey has also written a book of lighthearted poetry "Aroma of a Rebel." His daughter is Pesha

Author Biography:

Captain Robert Bailey was born in Bolton in Lancashire in 1907. He was the penultimate child in a family of six children. He was a warm generous man who also wanted to help people. His home was full of singing and knew all the words to many, many of the old songs. He was talented in many different ways including figure iceskating, riding on the wall of death, private pilot licence and could walk on his hands until he was about fifty. He died twenty fourth of February 1986.
