Description

This product is designed for those people who wish to improve their English by the tried and tested method of "reading, hearing and understanding". Using Christie's simple, yet flawless, English, the twists and turns of her plots should keep listeners entertained whilst they improve their grammar and vocabulary. Each volume is read by a selection of celebrated readers, many of whom are already synonymous with Agatha Christie, The Queen of Crime, after appearing in the television adaptations of her work - David Suchet, Hugh Fraser, James Warwick and Joan Hickson to name a few. With each CD specifically featuring a variety of readers, listeners should get used to hearing and understanding English spoken in a variety of dialects, tones and pitches. The first CD in this pack features the titles "Death by Drowning", in which an architect stands accused of murdering a unwed mother-to-be, and "The Plymouth Express", in which the body of a millionaire's daughter is found under a train seat. The second CD features "The Lamp", the story of a haunted house, where a boy discovers an invisible playmate, and "The Case of The Missing Lady", in which an arctic explorer seeks his missing fiancee.
