Aleksandr Volk was created in the Hercules Olympic Lab. While still an infant and on the day he is scheduled to be transported to his next stage of development, the Hercules Olympic lab in Smolensk Russia is destroyed by saboteurs. Aleksandr survives along with his nurse and she smuggles him to the United States to escape exploitation in Russia. Aleksandr is orphaned and thrust into an endless parade of bad foster homes in Detroit and Cleveland. A loving foster family in Mayfield Ohio takes a chance on him and he finds love and acceptance and slowly discovers his amazing physical abilities aided by the beautiful and courageous Aaliyah. Along the way he battles small town politics, bullies, Russian spies, and his own internal demons to cash in on the one good thing he was blessed with, his athletic prowess.
