Most people think that children are sponges and that the number of words they can assimilate and memorize has no limit, but is this really the case? It is not so easy for most children to learn a second or third language, to retain vocabulary and to reuse it at the right time, or when well-intentioned aunts or grandparents interrogate them in English.
