The historical accounts prepared by these coordinators were submitted with appropriate background documentation to the History Office. The submissions were used extensively by the Historical Office historians in the preparation of the narrative, buttressed by such further research as is reflected in the footnotes, including interviews with a number of key staff personnel that ranged from brief telephonic contacts on specific points of inquiry to extended, wide-ranging interviews that were often preserved by tape recording.
