Author Biography

Dr Hinemoa Elder has lived on Waiheke Island for 21 years. She is a child and adolescent psychiatrist, working at the Child and Family Unit at Starship Hospital, in Auckland. She is also a Maori Strategic Leader for the Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) for the Ageing Brain. Hinemoa has been involved with the media for many years - a former children's TV presenter for 3.45 Live, a daily live show in the early 1990s, and then of the Bugs Bunny Show. She has had a weekly newspaper column in the Sunday Star-Times, and is often interviewed on national television and current affairs programmes about her work in mental health.
