"An absolutely brilliant book"
5 stars"

This has to be one of the greatest books that I've ever read. Neil deGrasse Tyson brilliantly captures the fundamentals of astrophysics in a neat and concise book that expertly explains concepts of space for the most part, in plain, easy to understand English. At only 200 pages long, he covers everything from dark matter, particle astrophysics, space gravity and other interesting topics with useful analogies and background history e.g. who was the first to invent a telescope for observing space and when etc. Overall this is a brilliant pocket-sized book that has greatly expanded my knowledge and curiosity for astrophysics and space. I would 100% recommend this book however, be aware that Neil deGrasse Tyson has copied many pages of text from his other books so if you've read his other books, you might want to skip this. 10/10

"Great introduction to astrophysics."

As the title of the book suggests, Astrophysics for people in a hurry is a good book for people who, like me, lack a thorough understanding of Astrophysics. This book does a good job at summarising/condensing the scientific field into its bare bones while giving the reader a decent level of information pertaining to the subject without being needlessly dull. All in all I’d recommend this book as an intro to anyone interested in the field of astrophysics, as I am.

Description

There's no better guide through mind-expanding questions such as what the nature of space and time is, how we fit within the universe, and how the universe fits within us than Neil deGrasse Tyson. But today, few of us have time to contemplate the cosmos. So Tyson brings the universe down to Earth succinctly and clearly, with sparkling wit, in digestible chapters consumable any time and anywhere in the busy day. Astrophysics for People in a Hurry reveals just what you need to be fluent and ready for the next cosmic headlines: from the Big Bang to black holes, from quarks to quantum mechanics and from the search for planets to the search for life in the universe.
