Author Biography:

Mike Bechthold, PhD, is the Managing Director of the Juno Beach Centre and Production Coordinator of the Wilfrid Laurier University Press. Before this he was the Communications Director & Managing Editor, Canadian Military History, Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies. He has led over 20 groups of students, academics, high school teachers, military officers and the general public on tours of the Canadian battlefields in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Mike is also an accomplished cartographer. His work has been published in hundreds of books, journals, and magazines as well as being used in museum exhibits and online galleries. Mike has written and contributed to many books and articles, including - Flying to Victory: Raymond Collishaw and the Western Desert Campaign, 1940-41 (U. of Oklahoma Press, 2017), Canada and the Second World War with G.
