"Aventura Nueva" is a communicative three-part Spanish course in line with the Key Stage 3 strategy that is suitable for a wide ability range. "Aventura Nueva 2" carefully builds on the language and structures learnt in "Aventura Nueva 1", developing students' confidence and knowledge of Spanish. The course has been designed specifically to fit the requirements of the Key Stage 3 strategy, with clear mapping onto the linguistic objectives, providing a clear, logical structure for both learners and teachers. The objectives of each lesson are clearly highlighted and introduced via a starter activity. There is comprehensive coverage of grammar, with each grammar point clearly introduced in context and reinforced at the end of the chapter. Vocabulary is carefully introduced to promote fluency and accuracy within relevant and motivating contexts relating to Spain and Latin America. The four main skills are covered through the QCA scheme of work guidelines for Key Stage 3 and there are links to Spanish-language websites and exploitation activities to provide ICT practice. The course is fully differentiated through a range of reinforcement and extension activities in the book, coupled with workbooks at two different levels.

Rosa Maria Martin, a native speaker and teacher of Spanish, is currently Director of the Language Learning Unit at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London. Martyn Ellis is the Pricipal of Eurocentre, an EFL college in central London, and is an expert in the theory and practice of language teaching and learning.
