Forget the other ones. This is the primer you want. Easy to apply with airbrush or regular ol’ paintbrush, dries fast and hard matte.

Sprays perfect straight out of the bottle through an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS. Great coverage and self leveling, leaves a tough prime in a much shorter timeframe compared to something like the Vallejo primer.

I bought this because I'm already a convert to Stynlrez primer having already used the grey and white and found them to be brilliant. The black goes on smooth as silk and provides a fantastic base especially if you are doing a light coat on top and want it to have some depth. Like all water-based primers its lack of solvents makes for easy breathing and quick cleanup but the trade-off is a primer that can rub off if you arn't careful when handling it before it fully cured (But its “stickbility” is better than many others I've tried.). You do need to whack it on at a fairly high pressure, but it self levels to a great finish. And in “almost a half litre cause Yanks don't do metric” (16oz/475ml) bottles, it's great value. Get you some.
