Oh Ilona Andrews how I love you. You take one very messed up shapechanger who has never had a family and never expected to, despite desperately wanting one. And hand him over to a bunch of quirky, chaotic and slightly psychotic Edgers. Add a mysterious group of magical special ops soldiers and a long standing feud and you have the magic that is Bayou Moon.
I loved William from about halfway through On the Edge but in this book he truly shined and I just adored him. Here's a guy who doesn't need an easy, gentle woman. Cerise Mar is perfect for him. She's as tough as he is, and could probably take him in a serious fight. A woman who makes him proud with her killer instincts. Her family may be slightly nutty, but they're a family and they seem willing to accept him, even after discovering he is a changeling.
