Author Biography

Douglas Florian is an award-winning children's book author and illustrator best known for his poetry collections, including Beast Feast, which received the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award; Mammalabilia, which received the Claudia Lewis Poetry Award; Dinothesaurus, a Bank Street Best Book of the Year as well as a Kirkus Reviews Best Book of the Year and a Junior Library Guild Selection; Bow Wow Meow Meow, a Parents Magazine Best Book of the Year; and many more. He is also the author of Once I Was a Pollywog; Leap, Frog, Leap!; and The Wonderful Habits of Rabbits. Barbara Bakos has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She has worked as an art director and a character and background designer for a television series, but she always knew that she wanted to spend more time as an illustrator.
