Purchased this on sale for a backup. I buy Belkin outlets as they guaranty them for LIFE! Luckily, I tried it and noticed that the “not grounded” light comes up. Tried the other Belkin surge protectors, all worked well in the same connectors except this one. Contacted Belkin;
- The customer service consultant forgot me on hold for over 1.5 hours, then tried to tell me that my house isn't grounded and I need to call an electrician.
- I got a follow up email to call an electrician to check if my house is grounded.
- After explaining again that I have another 6 of the same outlet and none of them has this light coming up and my house is definitely grounded, they told me that they haven't got a replacement unit.
- After 2 weeks I received another email that they just saw my email with my address for the replacement, but I will have to send them back the faulty unit first for a check-up on my own shipping cost and they will give me a store credit as they still have no replacement.
The latest Belkin products sims flimsier than their previous ones but I didn't mind it as they come with a lifetime WARRANTY. I really wonder how they will honour the lifetime warranty if it's such a hassle to return a faulty product. Oh, and they will ask for the copy of the purchase invoice as well…not sure how many people keeps the invoice for their lifetime
