Colleen Coble’s latest suspenseful tale is also a welcome return to Rock Harbour which is a series that I️ have read some but not all of the available titles.
911 dispatcher Dana Newel has returned to her family home after escaping an abusive relationship. But she soon realises that sometimes that even in the most tranquil of settings can still not fully protect us from the outside world – as the very things she ran from have followed her here.
This was a truly suspenseful tale with lots of twists and turns – there seemed to be multiple possible 'baddies’ and just the right amount of romance as well.
The setting was also magically rendered – vivid description so that you could almost feel the chill of the air and the frozen landscape. Very atmospheric.
Recommended reading especially on a cold, rainy weekend curled up by the fire of course.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via The Fiction Guild, and was not required to post a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.
