Deeply influenced by the collaboration with David Bowie on his last record Blackstar, Donny McCaslin steps forward and releases Beyond Now on the 14th of October, recorded nearly three months after Bowie’s passing. Along with “David Bowie’s Last Band” (Jason Lindner, Mark Guiliana, Tim Lefebvre and Donny himself), Donny reimagines two Bowie tracks (A Small Plot of Land & Warszawa), as well as tracks by Deadmau5, The Chainsmokers and MUTEMATH and five powerful originals.
For McCaslin, the collaboration with Bowie felt like a dream, except it was something he never could have dreamed of. “David Bowie was a visionary artist whose generosity, creative spirit, and fearlessness will stay with me the rest of my days. Beyond Now is dedicated to him and to all who loved him.”
