"The mother of all games!"
5 stars"

This games has definitely lived up to all the hype, once I started playing this game I couln't stop until I had finish. The graphics are a godlike 1080p true HD. And if you liked the first bioshock this game will not disappoint.

10/10 a must have for sure

"Incredibly mind-absorbingly intense!"
5 stars"

Loved Bioshock? You'll love this one for sure. The developers of Bioshock carefully read every single complaint about their game and improved it to bring you this – Bioshock 2. The single player is the bulk of this game – gritty, intense and a story that could have come straight out of a movie. Texture detail is insane, voice acting is top-notch and the soundtrack? Incredible. Too often did I find myself amp up the volume just to listen to the intensity and feeling I got from the beautifully designed symphony.

The city of Rapture is now even older than the original and the graphics and lighting help enormously to add a true feeling that this crumbling city has many secrets to hide. Ambient sounds like squeaks, rattles and voices fade in and out of your speakers adding a feeling of tension and suspense. Who knows what lurks around every corner? There are a ton of surprises that await in this ancient city. Then once you've finally completed the enthralling story – There's 4 possible endings – You've got an addictive online multiplayer that takes place in Rapture before the single player. The gunfights are intense and the ability to combine fire balls and guns never gets old.

All in all, it's a visual and audio masterpiece that will be a much wanted addition to anyone's collection. Scrape up that cash, this one is a buy.

Excellent game, loads of ways to upgrade weapons abilities etc. A nice dark atmosphere and great story, good first person shooter with a bit of puzzle solving. The upgrades are numerous and give it replayabilty.

"Mutant Gun toting psychos and needles galore"

Bioshock 2 is incredible. The environment is dark, moist, and dingy. Stumble your way through rapture with countless combinations of splicing powers and modified weapons to kill and maim your enemies in fairly inventive ways. In-game choices change the overall outcome and storyline of the game, and explore widely and discover sub-plots from the citizens of rapture. With a Highly interactive envrionment, and the ability to lay traps anywhere, there are countless ways to assault your enemies, but be fast because your opponents are quick also. Although Bioshock 1 has a bit more puzzling to figure out than Bioshock 2, the game definately makes up for this with the burning, hacking, drilling, and perforating your enemies. Definately 5/5 for bioshock 2.

"Pretty vacant"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I loved the first Bioshock, and waited impatiently for the second.

This one is just as pretty as the first one, with gorgeous detailed environments to explore. Some new plasmids give some awesome results, and it's fun to see Rapture from Big Daddies point of view.

But, it's missing the creepyness of the first one. It doesn't have enough tension, and it doesn't really have any surprises. I think that detracts alot since it was the creepy factor in the first game that appealed so much.

Nothing lives up to the theatre level of the first game, but even in saying that it's still a very good game, I enjoyed it alot and I didn't think it was a waste of money to get it.

You find out more of the history of Rapture and that alone makes it worth playing. Still lots of secrets and weapons and stuff, actually too many weapons – everywhere you go you trip over something.

Pretty good for an entertaining weekend, but not as good as the original.

"Truly Amazing"

After playing the first Bioshock, I was left with the feeling that I NEEDED to come back to Rapture. This sequel not only delivered that experience, but also a truly emotional one as well. Now that I've finished both Bioshock 1 and 2, I still feel like I need to explore Rapture again. That is the sign of a fantastic game.

"Rapture returns - in splendour!"

Bioshock 2 had the bar set high. Competing with its predecessor as a GOTY winner. It delivered the goods.

You are returned to an underwater world, with a gripping story line, set prior to the first installment. It is an involved first person shooter, with weapons, abilities and other gimmicks to keep the player very involved. The game challenges you in a non traditional FPS manner, forcing the player to often think strategically about how to approach different situations.

The game play is great fun, the story keeps you going. Replay value may not hold for many, and the graphics are not up to some of the competition, however this is a great game, that needs to be played!

I very much enjoyed it!

This is a very interesting follow on from the first one. Great game play and great effects.

Love the first and even love the second more.
