Bombon suceeds in telling a realistic tale of Coco (Juan Villegas), a non-professional actor as a down and out mechanic struggling to find his way in the world. Until he meets Argentinian Dogo dog Bombon.
Before Coco meets Bombon he is an inspiration to watch as he makes do with what little he has. Afterwards he and his new friend hit the road and things begin to change for the better, you can't help but root for them.
At times the pace can make the film seem quite melancholic and downbeat but this soon overcome by more charming antics from Bombon and Coco.
Recommended viewing for anyone wishing to see a film with a heart of gold. Dog lovers will be pleased as well as those who take pleasure watching Neo-realist classics such as The Bicycle Thief and Umberto D.
