This is an excellent series. I love it even more since it is filmed on location at my mother's village in Downham, Lanchashire.

Born and Bred Series 3 (4 disc set) presented on DVD.
Celebrating British country life circa 1950s, Born and Bred is the much revered TV series created by Chris Chibnall and Nigel McCrery (Silent Witness, New Tricks). Exploring the story of a close-knit family and the many unique characters that exist in the village of Ormston, Born and Bred is a delightful peek into an old-fashioned world. Series 3 continues the lively saga of Ormston and its community as the glitter of Christmas celebrations settle. Phyllis (Maggie Steed) is stunned when Harry, her absent husband reappears after six long years. Len (Peter Gunn) and Linda (Tracey Childs) are anxious about becoming foster parents. A plan for the brewery to buy the village pub is scuppered by the underhand tactics of the locals. Meanwhile, Tom (Michael French) and Arthur's (James Bolam) relationship deteriorates when Tom is offered a job in New Zealand which Arthur promptly steals. There's the competitive spirit and friendly rivalry of the inter-village pub games and Jean and Eddie finally tie the knot.
