Over 150 Ballads from George Borrow are contained within this book. It is compiled from 38 limited edition booklets of ballads that were produced at the beginning of the 20th Century. George Borrow was a lover of travel and was fluent in several languages including Romany. He was particularly taken with the poetry of the Northern Races and many of his ballads are translated from the Danish. These pamphlets contained his later poetic works and they considered to be much superior to his earlier book "Romantic Ballads" which was crude in terms of the rhythm and rhyme.
