- New Zealand born Will Martin is set to release his brand new studio album on Friday 26 April 2019.
- While he continues to travel the world performing at prestigious venues and events, he has returned to New Zealand to release his newest recording on home soil first.
- The new album, By Request, is a unique collection of 12 songs all arranged and performed with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, in a Cinematic Contemporary style.
- An exciting step in adult contemporary music – not only does this record focus on powerful, blockbuster arrangements, it also celebrates the maturing of Will’s rich and emotive voice.
- The creation of this album has been a journey in itself …
In a ‘ballsy’ move, Will gave his fans complete control on what tracks
would feature on the album by running a 16-week campaign through his website.
People were invited to submit and vote for the songs they would most like to
hear him sing.
What resulted was an exciting, challenging and diverse collection of songs,
which Will then then had arranged for full orchestra, before taking them to
Prague !!
- The song list includes :
- Leonard Cohen’s hauntingly beautiful fan-favourite Hallelujah.
- Requiem For A Soldier (the theme from Band Of Brothers) – The song Will performed at last year’s Armistice Day Centenary Commemoration, and will reprise at the this year’s Anzac Day Dawn Service.
- Plus a few unexpected additions, such as Christina Perri’s
A Thousand Years, and an exciting take on Celine Dion’s version of The Power Of Love, recorded as a duet with ex Celtic Woman singer, Chloë Agnew.
- Will’s debut album – ‘A NEW WORLD’ – went double platinum here in New Zealand, and when it was released in the United Kingdom it launched at Number 1, making him the youngest man in musical history to top the classical charts
- His brand new record – ‘BY REQUEST’ – was produced in Europe, and features the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. The songs were chosen by Will’s supporters and they combine to form an incredible tracklist of cinematic reimagining’s; including Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’, Rod Stewart’s ‘Sailing’, Billy Joel’s ‘Piano Man’ as well as ‘Requiem For A Soldier’ (the theme from Steven Spielberg’s ‘Band Of Brothers’).
The album is available for Pre Order NOW, and it launches in NZ on Friday 26th April.
- Will was invited to sing at last year’s Armistice Day Centenary Commemoration Service, held on the steps of the Auckland Museum.
- His performance of ‘Requiem For A Soldier’ (the theme from Steven Spielberg’s ‘Band Of Brothers’) was broadcast live on television, and featured on TV One News that evening – thousands have praised the rendition,
