Author Biography:

William Hultgren is Chairman of the Charlton Historical Commission and of the Charlton Historic Districts Commission and the Vice President of the Charlton Historical Society. He is a member of the Charlton Planning Board (since 1968) and National Register Coordinator for the town of Leicester. In the past he has served as Charlton Tree Warden, President of the Charlton Historical Society, Charlton Cemetery Commissioner, and Historic Preservation Consultant for the town of Leicester. Some of his past publications include: Charlton, Images of America (Arcadia 2001), Swedes of Greater Worcester (Arcadia 2005), and A Glance Back, Charlton Photographic History (Charlton Historical Society 1992). He is very active in the community, narrating the Historical Society's bus tour, which sells out every spring.
