Author Biography:

Ashraf Esmail is an assistant professor in social sciences at Southern University in New Orleans. His research interests include urban, multicultural, and peace education; family; cultural diversity; political sociology; criminology; social problems; and deviance. Alice Duhon-Ross McCallum serves as department head of the MS Higher Education and Adult Learning in the Richard W. Riley College of Education at Walden University. Her current research focuses on multicultural education and counseling with special interest in school violence, family in poverty, and conflict resolution.
