This is a combined review for 4 different coloured sets (green, smoke, yellow, teal). I chose the translucent versions to avoid air bubble balance issue. Most of them were fairly OK quality, some had a slight balance issue, but not severe enough to be a huge problem. I will focus on the exceptions.
YELLOW – D20 numbers patchy. GREEN – D12 has a big bubble that makes it float on 1, 4, 6 consistently (salt water test). TEAL – D20 numbers patchy. 1, 7 worn out, difficult to read. SMOKE – Except for D12 and D20, numbers are difficult to read (not enough red ink, too dark).
Considering its price, I expected these to be of higher quality than those that come in board games. Unfortunately, it was par or even sub-par in the case of Green D12.
Having said this, this is solely due to Chessex's quality control. MightyApe's customer service was top notch.
