This version of the the famous clamp Manga “Chobits” has been a pleasure to read. Chobits is about Hideki, a young man who lives in the world of android like computers called persocoms but he is the only person who can't afford one. After he finds one in the trash he begins to judge whether it is right for people to have persocoms and whether they can be more than just computers. During this time he begins to care more deeply about his new persocom that he names Chi and begins to think about her as more than just a computer. This second omnibus is excellent, especially with its improved translation compared to the original English release from TokyoPop. It is also a lot cheaper compared to buying 8 separate volumes and is a lot better in an omnibus. This Omnibus also has the added extra of many colour pages printed on glossy paper at the start of each volume and an amazing 40 at the end. It also stays true to the original Japanese version and is read right to left to make it more authentic. Care has also gone into the different fonts so it is easier to differentiate between persocoms and normal people talking making it a lot easier to understand some conversations. The only downside like the first omnibus that can be found is the sheer size of it and how it can be difficult reading it sometimes due to its size. This size also causes the problem of the weak spine which is not adequate for the number of pages crammed in. But apart from theses small problems it was an excellent re-release and I would definitely recommend it to all manga fans, all fans of Chobits and anyone who purchased the first omnibus and enjoyed it, you will enjoy this even more.

Description

This title presents the conclusion of the best-selling "Chobits" saga! In a world where people rely on computers to escape loneliness, the logical conclusion is the persocom - attractive robot companions that are becoming everyone's boyfriend and girlfriend. Chi is a persocom, but she is also one of the legendary 'Chobits', experimental persocoms built to acquire full awareness and emotion. As Hideki and his friends search for the abducted Chi, others are watching them - others who know who built Chi, and why, and what went terribly wrong. It is already known that the affectionate persocom can, in fact, be quite dangerous...but the real danger is what the soul of this new machine means for the future of the human heart. Because it was never the computers who were weak, it was the people who made them, and if Hideki wants to truly save Chi, he needs the courage to truly love her!
