The Bundy name is celebrated by ranchers and farmers throughout the West. But that same name has become an anathema to those ensconced in Washington; those who work to arrest the oncoming wildfire of honest examination of the long-held Federal assertion of land ownership and management irrespective of the citizens Constitutional rights and guarantees across the West's vast agricultural sector, one that feeds the world.
With this book, Cliven Bundy tells his story for the first time to author Michael Stickler while behind the razor wire fences of Federal lockup. Stickler spent over 60 days documenting Bundy's side of the conflict that led over 200 Federal agents - in full tactical gear armed for civil war - to seize, sell, and destroy his cattle - acting well beyond their judicial warrant. The standoff made international news, creating the rally cry "No, Hell NO!" that brought thousands of Americans from across the country to the Bundy Ranch in April 2014.
Additionally, Cliven gives his personal account of 'life lost', and the continued costs that the "Bundy 19" endure as they continue to sacrifice their livelihoods and freedom.
The author describes the intense hardships the Bundy 19 (18 others charged with federal crimes along with Cliven) experience from the oppression and danger that continues in the government's private contract prison in which they are held. From here, Cliven shares his personal inner fears and hopes for the future.
It's a burden that weighs heavily upon Cliven's heart.
Author Biography:
CLIVEN BUNDY is a farmer, rancher, husband, father of 14 and grandfather of 63 (as of today!) and a Constitutionalist. His passion is to see the Federal Government return their unlawfully usurped ownership of State lands to "We The People" and LOCAL governmental power and ownership. The Federal Government treats him as a terrorist, the media paints him as a gun-toting militia wacko. He has been in Federal lockup, along with 18 others also charged, since February 2016. Arthur W. Ritter, BEE, MPA, MBA Elder, Presbyterian Church U.S.A Lieutenant Colonel, United States Air Force (Retired) "Art" Ritter graduated from the University of Minnesota - Institute of Technology as an Electrical Engineer - and Reserve Officer Training Corp student. Commissioned and married upon graduation, he and Georgia, his wife of 51 years, spent the next 26 years in U.S. Air Force life - Art flying as a navigator and electronic warfare officer (serving in both Viet Nam, Taiwan, and Korea) and stateside, in various organizational levels of the staff, mostly writing and speaking - Georgia, packing moving, and unpacking (and repeating) while raising their two daughters and creating a gift shop finally settled in the Lss Vegas valley. While in service and soon after his retirement, Art earned Masters degrees in both Public and Business Administration and upon retirement from the Air Force began a consulting practice with start-ups - for-profit and non-profit, to include churches. A life-long Presbyterian, he and Georgia started a church in their home in Tucson which he served as an elder and clerk of its session. He has also served his church in several local congregations and at higher, regional levels, as well. As Board member of the Religious Alliance In Nevada, he has harmonized the five major Christian denomination-members' denominational positions into effective advocacy positions for incorporating scriptural principles into law regarding human trafficking, penal treatment, education, and other social justice issues. From user - to member - to teacher - to publisher, Art has been associated with the Vision Group for nearly ten years.
