Any misgivings that people may have had over Carla Bruni’s ability to make the transition from the catwalk to the recording studio were wholly dispelled by the runaway success of her debut album ‘Quelqu’ Un M‘a Dit’. The record sold 950,000 copies in France and made the former model a household name. Her second album ‘No Promises’ reinforced her musical credibility as she went back in time and borrowed the work of classical English poets with incredible sensitivity. It also met with some great commercial success.
Carla Bruni is now Frances’s first lady and the first ever spouse of a head-of-state to record an album. Now she returns with her 3rd album ‘Comme Si De Rien N'Etait‘ which translates in English to ‘As If nothing ever happened’. Produced by Dominique Blanc-Francard, this album includes 14 tracks written and composed by Carla with the exception of two songs written in collaboration with French novelist Michel Houellebecq “La Possiblité D’une Ile” and singer Julien Clerc “Il Vecchio E il Bambino”.
