Description

This action-packed adventure of ex-cop turned private eye, Joe Copp, takes him into the world of corrupt lawmakers and cops on the take. Copp is hired by an old friend, the current Brighton City Administrator, to get to the bottom of the municipal mess in the Southern California town of Brighton. The mayor has been murdered; the Chief of Police has resigned amid rumors of corruption within his department; and other city officials are being accused of similar allegations. Almost from the moment that Joe Copp takes on the job of Acting Police Chief, it is an icy, downhill slide for Copp. A beautiful police officer tries to set him up on attempted rape charges, and his investigation leads him on a murky trail of murder, sex, drugs and dirty politics. The police badge Copp wears offers little protection against the evil forces of corruption.Milwaukee Sentinel: "Pendleton is a master of action and dialog and 'Copp' is a taut detective story.
