Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mondo Cane) has teamed up with legendary French producer, Jean-Claude Vannier (Serge Gainsbourg), on an album of sleazy pop rock that will appeal to fans of Patton's projects such as Peeping Tom, Lovage and Mr. Bungle.
The collaboration initially started when Jean-Claude and Mike met while working together on a Gainsbourg retrospective at the Hollywood Bowl in 2011. A few years later, they started sharing songs and they’ve come together in this 12 track album, Corpse Flower.
Other musicians on the album include Smokey Hormel (Beck, Johnny Cash), Justin Meldal-Johnson (Beck, Nine Inch Nails, Air), James Gadson (Beck, Jamie Lidell), Didier Malherbe (Gong) and Bernard Paganotti (Magma).
