This product is a waste of alot of time and of money when there are more comprehensive MMO mice that Mightyape stocks which are tried true and tested. More on that after my indictment of this unsupported BY Corsair, very user UN-friendly pile of junk. It is so bad that its maker Corsair has obviously not even bothered to QA it before they were happy to ship it and take our money, and have made bizarre decisions on its operational aspects along with the utter mess its iCue software goes about making your life, in regards to this, an exercise in frustration, anger and anxiety.
What is really broken about this pile of plastic junk, is the actual feature that is SUPPOSED to render it as an MMO mouse: the numeric keypad on the side. It will arrive in the box DUDDED and DEAD in this (dis) respect. After you realise this one must needs use the iCue software on your desktop to try and ASSIGN the numbers on the top row of your KB to this… THING. It will be an abject lesson in learning to grin and not use the thing as a whirly-gig. The software app is a maze of a MESS. There are no official tutorials on HOW one can assign the keys and going to YT to try to glean info is pointless because the videos people make end up being obsolete due to these clowns trying to update the sorry app and make it user friendly and comprehensible, which doesn't work. Tutorials help. So does actually being an MMO gamer if you are the designer who makes an MMO mouse. I have tried to program this junk many times over the weeks and it just stays dudded. I have put a ticket in with Corsair support and they never even bothered answering. I am now demanding a refund and this is the promised solution to all of this mess.
If you value your sanity leave off bothering with this crap and go to this MA link: https://www.mightyape.co.nz/…-pc/27559921 . It is a Razer NAGA MMO mouse and I wish I had bought another one of these rather than this Scimitar non-sense. The NAGA has the top row of numbers on your KB mapped already to the unit. They are the keys you will most likely be using most if you play an MMO like Guild Wars 2, ESO or WoW. It is called “plug & play”, a fact I informed Coarse-air when I demanded a refund for their rubbish. The NAGA is a dream to use. It costs around the same as this and is worth twice as much as this and Razer's desktop app software is simple, informative and actually works if you wish to re-asign keys.
There's a reason this Scimitar “pro” is yellow and that is because the god-awful thing is a $150+ lemon…
