She is a licensed clinical mental health counselor supervisor, national certified counselor, licensed chemical dependency counselor, and the executive director and CEO of A Therapist Like Me in Asheville, North Carolina. Emma Borens holds a master's degree in guidance and counseling from North Carolina Central University. She is a retired school counselor of more than 30 years and a retired counselor educator from San Francisco State University with 15 years of service. Sharon Bowles holds a master's degree in secondary education with an emphasis in school counseling from the University of San Francisco. She is a retired math teacher and head school counselor with 34 years of service and a retired counselor educator from San Francisco State University with 15 years of service.
