This was a great Halloween read! The setting was spooky & ominous and the characters were unlikeable, and it resulted in a clever & captivating page turner. Very reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None”, we find that the Darker family hides many secrets as they gather to celebrate Nana’s 80th birthday. When the tides comes in & they are cut off from the rest of the world, family history and secrets are revealed as people are picked off, one by one. I liked the build up of tension within the Darker family, and was eagerly turning the pages to see who would be left alive at the end. I thought that this was skillfully told & I enjoyed every minute of it.
