Statistics have revealed, around the world, that thousands of people who have won the lottery are plagued with multiple misfortune events that usually leave them broke or to their demise. Dan happens to be one of those causalities of winning a large jackpot which eventually leads to a series of bad luck events which makes Dan wonder if his life would have been better off than hitting the jackpot. This story takes place in a fictional rural town in Louisiana where Dan is a Christian praying man but events in his life make this blue-collared worker a part of the selected few to hit the big, big, big money.
