Description

Internationally renowned wildlife artist and conservationist David Shepherd was a man who liked to think big – and in the long-term... whether it be his love of painting elephants and steam engines in the present, or protecting them for the future. David's artistic talents, incredible achievements, foibles, eccentricities and largerthan- life character are fully documented in this biography written by his son-in-law. With access to family archives and photos, private diaries, anecdotes and reminiscences, sale-of-painting details, plus never-before-seen paintings and some pencil sketches only discovered after his death, Jeremy Hobson is able to create a unique portrait of a truly remarkable man. AUTHOR: A professional freelance writer, author and journalist for almost two decades, Jeremy Hobson's subject matter is generally rural-based, on field sports; farming; smallholdings; chicken-keeping and working dogs.
