In “Day of The Dead”, the third in Romero’s “Living Dead” series, the walking dead have taken over the world, and only a small band of the living are known to remain – a motley collection of survivors, scientists, and soldiers all barricaded together inside an abandoned nuclear missile silo. They live in the hope that there are others alive in a remote corner of the world, but hope is fading fast. Food, ammo, medical supplies and morale are in short supply, and tensions rise further when the psychotic, self-appointed military leader, Rhodes, discovers that Dr. Logan, a border-line mad scientist, has been conducting experiments on the zombies to try to find a way of controlling them. The result is a standoff between the soldiers and the scientists amongst a horde of ravenous, flesh-eating zombies in a horrific last-ditch battle for survival.
