Description

Toni Ortner's Daybook V, Change of Season, documents the daily thoughts of the Vermont poet and writer who reflects on life in the times of COVID. Uplifting but tinted with the bleakness of the era, Change of Season, blends both poetry and prose in her diary of reflections and is infused with the beauty of Vermont illustrator Linda Rubenstein's colorful works.

Author Biography:

Toni Ortner has had 25 books published by small presses in the United States. Blue Lyrics is scheduled for publication by Adelaide Books in 2021. In 2022 Shadows and Silhouettes will be produced by Kelsay Books and Daybook IV: Flying Home by Deerbrook Editions. She lives in Putney, Vermont where she hosts the Putney Library Writers Salon that features writers of poetry and fiction from Vermont and other states. The series is on Zoom the first Thursday night of each month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. until March of 2022. Toni is Vice President of Write Action which is a nonprofit group that supports writers in southern Vermont and the Brattleboro area through events, contests, and publications. Her website is toniortner.com where you can see recent work, reviews of her books, and where to buy them. Vermont based artist Linda Rubinstein has created more than seventy one-of-a-kind and multiple artist books - volumes that she designs, constructs, writes and draws. Her work has been seen regionally and nationally in solo and group exhibitions and graces numerous private collections. Her most recent book, Pandemic Journal (2021), documents what life was like in the first six months of the shut down. It was published on-line by Vermont Views, magazine and included in the exhibit Unmasked at the Southern Vermont Art Center. Linda and her architect husband live on a rural road where they have raised two children, and an abundance of flowers, vegetables, and house plants. She has been an active member of the Vermont arts community.
