Description

Diamonds Lost in the Sand is a 'must-read' for all those interested and involved in any way with the raising and educating of children--leaders, teachers, parents and all home-educators. In this book David Freeman shares valuable and proven principles of wisdom which are like diamonds, often buried in the secular sands of culture. David holds them up to the light and offers faith-based wisdom for education: character development, behaviour management and a wealth of insight into children and their needs. A book to use and treasure. "I have known David for many years, I have watched him live out these lessons in his work and along with many others I have been a beneficiary of his wisdom. My suggestion is this; enjoy this book as you would a good meal. Savour the contents, consider the flavour, chew it thoroughly and digest it slowly. When that is done, the goodness contained within it will begin to be evident in your own life and work, then both you and your pupils will reap the benefits." Graham Coyle, National Leader (England) of Christian Schools' Trust

Author Biography

David's career has largely focused on the education and discipling of children and the training of teachers. He was founding head of The King's School, Witney, Oxford, in 1984 where he was headteacher for 17 years. He has subsequently helped plant Christian schools in the UK, Kazakhstan, Poland, Uganda and Rwanda. He also now regularly trains teachers in these countries and has had input to Canada, Norway, India, Nigeria and some other African countries. He mentors several teachers and also headteachers and other leaders in Rwanda, Uganda and South Korea, where he recently spent 3 months and is Honorary Principal of a school in Seoul. In Rwanda he is regularly involved with pastors from Salt and Light International related churches in Rwanda. He is also one of 4 directors of Bridge Schools Inspectorate, which is officially recognised by the British government. He has set up HighLight (www.highlightonline.org) which aims to inspire and equip educators, offering key principles to help them be effective in their teaching and mentoring. David is married to Rosie and they live in Henley-on-Thames. They have 3 children of their own, now married, and 11 grandchildren. They have also adopted an adult son in Rwanda who was an orphan.
